about

The Monster's Back was originally written at the end of 1974. The first version of Pus was over and I was about to embark on the second version and so I wrote the song. Then in 1976 on my flight back from the UK after a year in Brixton, I wrote a reggae-punk version that was to become known with Dave Warner's from the Suburbs and was recorded on Free Kicks 1978. Recently my friend, producer Tony Cooper convinced me to update and bring it into the present. Here it is with some barbed comments on rap.

lyrics

`When it comes to verbal dexterity I'm like Roger Federer, I'm just betterer, I've got more complexity'

Tony Cooper did everything on this except a little guitar by Martin Cilia and my vocals. I wrote the words, Bleddyn Butcher took the photo.
